STEERING COMMITTEE

Prof. Jonathan Kayondo is a Senior Research Officer at UVRI. Prof. Kayondo worked on the malaria mosquito vector research to examine genomic and population structure, new molecular-based species diagnostics, levels and types of prevailing knock-down resistance (Kdr) and host seeking behaviors in Anopheles gambiae across Uganda. Currently Prof. Kayondo is working on HIV-1 drug resistance. Additionally, Prof. Kayondo is also investigating evolution and factors influencing subsequent clinical relevance of these drug resistance mutations in the ART-naïve. Prof. Kayondo research involves use of various bioinformatics applications, and is interested in capacity strengthening projects of this discipline.
