Dr. Vincent Owino Adunga
Dr. Vincent Owino is a molecular cell biologist whose research interests focus on development of improved and/or novel control strategies for neglected tropical diseases (NTDs). Specifically, he is interested in identification and validation of potential drug targets and development of improved and/or novel diagnostic kits for NTDs. Dr. Owino is currently involved in identifying diagnostic and staging markers, and virulence factors in African trypanosomes, the causative agents of sleeping sickness and Nagana in man and livestock, respectively. In addition, Dr. Owino is engaged in application of insect cells in generation of diagnostic recombinant proteins.
